The materials used for KEIBA Tools.
Two types of our original steel materials are used for KEIBA Tools. They are 1) High Carbon Tool Steel and 2) Chrome Vanadium Steel made by Kobe steel Mills on our special requirement.

Most of other manufacturers in the same industry are using S55C or S58C Carbon Steel materials for their products. These materials can be hardened up to the upper limit of HRC62 by tempering technology. When better materials are used, even in the same HRC62 hardness with more room for higher hardness, the tools will be much more durable and tougher. Then, why can not other manufacturers use the better materials? It is simply because of different annealing system.

[Annealing Furnace]
Some foreign hand tool manufacturers don't have annealing process at all for their products. The annealing process is very important in handing better steel materials. It takes larger scale facilities and is very costly including energy consumption. We use the batch system operated by one cycle a day. Temperatures are precisely controlled by program controller, in which numerical requirements can be put. Kerosene burner is the heat source and U shape radiant tube holds indirect heat in the furnace. All our products are annealed in this furnace in 10h/cycle. Most of our competitors use conveyer system continuous furnace, which can be hold blanks only for 4~5 hours. It is not the way should be. Blanks should be heated very slowly for longer hours, and then cooled off. In continuous furnace system, the better steel materials such as high carbon steels more than 0.6 can not be used. If they are used, there will be problems in coining or machining processes after annealing.

[What end users say]
Many end users write or call in to tell us that KEIBA Micro Nippers and Plastic Cutting Pliers give them much better cutting feel and they wear much longer than any other brands.
